Helping you get the right care as quickly as possible
The central care record is designed to collate your medical information from different local NHS locations in an accessible electronic record. At times, services need to share some of your information with others that are supporting you, so that you can receive the best possible care.
The Local Care Record is supporting this by putting in place a secure way of sharing information electronically between local health and care professionals involved in your care.
As you may receive care from a number of different NHS locations and your information is stored at these different locations. This information is not easily available to other healthcare professionals such as GP’s or consultants or there is a wait for the information to reach the right person, with the Local Care Record this information will be centralised. Healthcare professionals will be able to view clinic letters, x-ray results and even future hospital appointments using the Local Care Record.
